Vice President, Talent Office, Optum

Rick works in the Optum Talent Office, leading Optum’s early career programs. The early career team is accountable for developing and executing programs across Optum. Optum invests heavily in developing the next-generation workforce that will allow the organization to achieve its full potential. Rick’s team drives these programs with an obsession towards creating an incredible employment experience. Developing and engaging our early career program participants. Not only does it allow us to attract the best talent in the market, but it also allows them to achieve their greatest potential while connecting them towards Optum’s mission of “helping people live healthier lives and helping make the health system work better for everyone. Rick’s background is in technology, and before this role, Rick was instrumental in developing and scaling Optum ‘s Technology Development Program as a leader in the tech organization. 

Rick graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a BS in Management Science and Information Systems and St. Thomas University with an MBA focused on health care. Prior to Optum, Rick worked as a consultant at Accenture, working on large system integration and ERP implementation projects. Rick resides outside Philadelphia, PA, with his wife and three kids.
